Wonderful outdoor activities in beautiful Brixham
It’s the best time of year to live in our beautiful home town of Brixham – so many wonderful outdoor activities take place, and it seems to be getting bigger and better with each passing year.
From joining the amazing yoga sessions to stretching and connecting with your body, getting in shape with kayaking and boogie boarding and joining the ever-expanding wild sea swimmers, taking refreshing coastal walks, enjoying the freedom to cycle, the list of activities goes on and on.
Nicola Bianca, one of Brixham Yoga’s teachers, taught outdoor yoga in the beautiful surroundings of Fishcombe Cove Café, spending some quality time practicing yoga and finishing with a wonderful healthy picnic all provided for you.
Outdoor swimmers are growing day by day, it seems like an addictive hobby…apparently once you start you can’t stop.
I haven’t joined them personally yet but they tell me about the incredible benefits of swimming in the sea.
From releasing stress, relaxing your muscles, to promoting deep sleep, swimming in the sea has also been linked to stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system which is responsible for resting and repairing your body.
It also triggers the release of dopamine and serotonin.
Music at Brixham Edge is also growing, with many people feeling much more comfortable going out and around after the last two years of lockdown.
If you are interested in joining the Music Maestros contact Tom Crump at Brixham Edge in Bolton Street on 01803 851514 and you will be made very welcome.
I will be continuing my walk-in yoga classes, also at Brixham Edge. These take place at different times and days to suit everyone. You can contact me for more information.
Every second Tuesday of every month we have the wonderful Linda and Fave performing a classic gold rock and roll band, this starts at 2pm and includes a £2 donation, refreshments are provided.
