DETROIT – Welcome Thursday night, Motown.
The weather remains magnificent during the dinner hour and during the night. It will be mild then cool under a clear sky. More sun returns with warmer conditions Wednesday The last days of summer will continue to be warmer than average, and many of them are more likely to be sunny than rainy.
After the sun sets, future astronomers, scientists and engineers can spot Jupiter and Saturn in the southern sky near the Moon. Saturn will be just above the Moon with the brighter Jupiter to the left.
Thursday night will be fair and fresh. We can sleep safely with the windows open as the night lows hit the 1950s.
Sunrise is at 7:16 a.m.
Friday will be mostly sunny, warm and wonderful. The highs will be in the 80s.
Saturday has a chance of an early patchy downpour with a weakening cold front. It is still hot and many areas will be dry. We will have partly sunny skies and warm conditions for the Michigan football game against northern Illinois which kicks off at noon. By the end of the game, highs will be near 80 degrees in Ann Arbor and most of Southeast Michigan, including Motor City.
Sunday will be mostly sunny and warm. Highs in the 80s.
Monday will be warmer with afternoon temperatures close to 85 degrees under mostly sunny skies.
Tuesday and Wednesday have a risk of showers and thunderstorms. Temperatures will climb to the low and mid-80s on Tuesday and to the high of the 70s on Wednesday.
Astronomical Fall 2021 officially begins with the Fall Equinox at 3:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
