Transgender teenage girls Claire, Devon, Arin and Katie set out to expose the harsh reality of modern teenage relationships.
Appearing in a new BBC Three Documentary, Young, Trans and Looking for Love, they give viewers a glimpse into their lives as they struggle to find love.
The doc shows the moment when Claire, from Virginia, meets a guy she loves, only to be rejected by him as soon as he finds out she was born a boy.
In the video above, Claire is heading to the beach in a bikini for the first time – having avoided the moment (and a bikini) since she became a woman almost a year ago.
With the help of her friends, she takes the courage to talk to the boys, saying, “I’m horny because there are a lot of cute guys out there.”
“What kind of guy are you?” the beach boys ask, as Claire responds about her ideal type, revealing “I like guys who are really funny.”
As bikini wearers find out about boys’ intentions, asking them they are “cute”, enthusiastic boys instantly respond with comments like “most definitely” and “gorgeous.”
A boy even asks, “Sometimes we should hook up.” chaturbate
Another said, “So I should put you here [his phone] as beautiful’?”
The boys, initially attracted to Claire, did not call after finding out she was trans.
“There it is, silence,” Claire said. “Like nothing from them again.”
Claire has also started writing diaries of her transition on social media, sharing her experiences with transgender teens around the world.
Hoping to find a boyfriend, she reveals that she doesn’t like telling people the truth and is in desperate need of an operation.
She says, “In a lot of ways, I don’t like telling a guy that. Once I tell her all respect goes out the window.
“Straight guys just can’t forget you have the male parts.
“Once I have had or had surgery I think it will change a lot for me because now if I meet a straight guy and he doesn’t know it we can’t get physical if I don’t tell him not.
“And then if he finds out, things get so complicated I can’t even begin to explain it.”
It is not entirely gloomy as the program reveals some successes.
Arin Andrews has found love with Katie Hill and the two appear to be the perfect American teenage couple in love.
They hang out together, see friends and go to the movies, but their love is one in a million – Arin was born a girl and Katie was born a boy. They are both transgender.
Arin started life as Emerald, a beauty pageant winner girl. The name on Katie’s birth certificate was Luke, a boy obsessed with video games. They met while changing genders and fell head over heels in love.
They shared their romance online – posting videos chronicling their relationship, the physical changes they go through and the emotional roller coaster of what it’s like to be transgender, downs of bullying, downs and downs. abuse and suicide attempts to their delight while undergoing hormonal treatments. and surgery.
Arin and Katie’s story inspired millions of people who watched their videos online – they became the poster girl and poster girl of the young trans community.
Meanwhile, Devon, an 18-year-old who’s gone from girl to boy, admires Arin and takes comfort in knowing that there is someone online who is going through the same challenges as him.
