The Cleveland Browns knew they had a Week 15 game with the Las Vegas Raiders, they just didn’t know what day or time. We now know that the two AFC teams will meet on December 18, a Saturday evening.
Cleveland and Las Vegas will face off in Northeast Ohio at 4:30 pm Both teams are alive in the NFL playoff race and this showdown could be big in the wild card. This game will be part of a double header on the NFL Network. Game 2 is a clash between the Indianapolis Colts and the New England Patriots and is scheduled for 8:20 p.m.
Cleveland hosts the Baltimore Ravens in the second straight game on the Sunday before the Raiders game. Cleveland has a week off between games for the Ravens, but will host the Raiders for a short week in Week 15.
The Browns are currently sixth in the wild card race and the Raiders are seventh. The top three teams qualify for the playoffs. So that Saturday game between the two teams could make sense in week 15 of a 17-game season.
At the end of the season, teams will have a sense of what their fate might be when it comes to the playoffs. One or both of these teams could play some must-have football.
