Scattered showers Saturday night, additional thunderstorms by the end of Father’s Day

DETROIT – Welcome to Juneteenth and Saturday night, Motown.

Fortunately, the risk of intense thunderstorm activity is diminishing, but scattered showers and storms are still possible in the late afternoon and evening. It will be partly cloudy and mild this evening. Tomorrow, Father’s Day, will have higher temperatures with a few drops of rain during the day and more stormy weather at night until the next morning.

On Saturday evening there will be showers and thunderstorms early. Then, closer to nightfall, the humid weather narrows and recedes. Temperatures will be in the 70s.

Sunset is at 9:13 p.m. ET.

Saturday night will be partly cloudy and mild. The overnight lows will be in the 60s.

Happy Father’s Day, Sunday! It will be more sunny. Scattered showers are possible before the end of the day, and it will be much warmer. The peaks will be in the mid and above the 80s.

More extensive showers and thunderstorms return late Sunday evening and early Monday morning. The National Weather Service gives the region a slight probability of strong or severe storms with heavy showers, frequent lightning, damaging winds or hail.

The remainder of Monday will be hot with scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. The highs will be in the 80s.

We can air our homes Tuesday and Wednesday. Every day will have a blue sky during the day and a starry sky at night. Highs will be near 70 degrees (about 10 degrees below average) on Tuesday, and in the mid and upper 70s on Wednesday.

Thursday will be mostly sunny and warmer. The maximums will be close to 85 degrees.

Friday will be very hot and humid. Afternoon temperatures will be close to 85 degrees with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
