Outagamie County Hosts Community Parks Meeting at Plamann Park | WFRV Local 5

(WFRV) – Residents of Outagamie County gathered on Monday, July 19 to hear discussions on a new park improvement project.

The county recognizes the importance and benefits of its park system to the character and quality of life of the community. With this in mind, they are committed to meeting the recreational needs of residents, current and future.

The meeting took place at the Plamann Park Pop Warner Refuge. The Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan or “CORP” for short is a new plan designed for the different elements of park development.

CORP will help the county make decisions related to improvements to existing parks, new facilities, land acquisition, recreational trail extensions and ADA requirements through 2022 and beyond. This project has been in preparation for six months.

One of the biggest concerns discussed at the meeting was the question of the budget for this plan and whether there will be enough funding for everything.

If you were unable to attend today’s meeting, you can still view the draft and submit your comments online on the Outagamy Parks page.
