HS Sports Xtra: Green Bay West scores six-game losing streak against East; Highlights of the FRCC and the FVA | WFRV Local 5

(WFRV) – In one of the country’s longest-running high school football rivalries, Green Bay West had lost six straight and 21 of the last 23 games to Green Bay East.

But on Friday night, new hope was born in Northeast Wisconsin’s most historic battle.

With several former Packers in attendance, the Wildcats beat the Red Devils at Del Marcelle Stadium, claiming West’s first win of the year.

West-East highlights a loaded roster of Friday night’s FRCC and FVA games.

Here’s a look at Friday’s results:

West blocked a potentially winning field goal to hang on to the win.

Pulaski 21, West De Pere 7: Maverick Cole scored the game’s first touchdown and Pulaski’s defense took the rest of the way in another solid win for the Red Raiders. Derek Block had a big quarterback game for Pulaski, passing for a second quarter touchdown to Aidan McDougal en route to the 21-7 victory.

From Father 21, Notre Dame 17: After losing 7-0, Notre Dame took control of the first half with solid defense and a dominating performance from Daniel Hornacek, leading to a 17-7 lead. But just like they’ve been doing all season, De Pere chewed up the clock to cut corners. Gabe Herman dove into the end zone in a quarterfinal draw at the end of the first half, reducing the deficit to 17-14 at halftime. The Redbirds needed just one point after the break to keep their sixth straight win.

Garrett Weyenberg connected with Carson Sippel on a screen pass to give Kaukauna an 18-point lead, and the home team have never regretted a rebound victory after last week’s beating at the Cross Country.
