High School Sports Xtra Highlights: Kimberly Wins FVA Crown; Appleton North, Bay Harbor Roll | WFRV Local 5

(WFRV) – After a changing of the guard in the spring with Fond du Lac proving to be the Fox Valley Association’s dominant team, Kimberly turned the tide and finished strong, winning the FVA title again.

But the teams at one of Wisconsin’s top conferences have bigger goals ahead.

Here’s a look at Friday’s results:

Kimberly 36, Neenah 23: Kimberly dragged the Rockets home in the second quarter, but Blake Barry’s 21-yard touchdown put the Papermakers ahead at halftime. Seth Miron connected with Cam Wnek for a touchdown in the opening practice of the third quarter, and Kimberly won another conference title with a 36-23 victory.

Appleton North 47, Fond du Lac 7: The Lightning made a playoff statement with a resounding victory at Fruth Field. North had two non-offensive touchdowns in the first 1:20 of the game, securing scores from Brock Salm on a punt return fumble and a six pick by Stone Hulke to make it 14-0 at the start of the first. quarter.

West Oshkosh 30, North Oshkosh 8: Jasiah Williams went wild for the dagger touchdown in the second half and West fled with the rivalry play, turning a 16-8 halftime lead into a 30-8 abuse by the Spartans. The Wildcats are still in contention for the playoffs.

Kaukauna 38, Appleton East 8

Bay Port 42, Green Bay South West 6: The Pirates threw a three-and-out on the opener and the offense capitalized, with Cole Bensen running a quarterback for the first score and Blake Buchinger hitting in the second touchdown of the first quarter. With a win next week, the Pirates will finish second in the FRCC-Nord.
