With the world turning upside down and stress levels at an all-time high because of it, what better way to deal with life’s challenges than relaxing in a chic outdoor space? !

There was a time when I didn’t really care about foliage, gardens and exterior decoration. But this summer is all about the outdoors, so I’ve been obsessed with creating an outdoor oasis that allows me to connect with nature, meditate, and occasionally entertain friends. There’s an art to designing such a space that speaks volumes, and with so many decorating trends hovering around the design vibe, it was only fitting that I got some expert advice to create my outdoor space. ideal.

Bregan Jane knows his stuff when it comes to putting a piece together. For years, the HGTV star has knocked down celebrity homes, award-winning restaurants and commercial spaces. She is currently starring in the new Discovery + series House that my marriage bought and is a featured face on The Food Network, discovery+, and HGTV shows, including Extreme makeover: family edition, Property Brothers, house party, and more. I had the chance to chat with the design pro about her passion for interior design, her early days in the industry, and the three things you need to make your outdoor space stand out.

Breegan has always had a knack for style. She started her design journey in fashion, which led her to her passion. “I owned a clothing store when I was 18, and I really thought I was going to get into fashion. I grew up modeling, so my early days were always surrounded by makeup artists and of stylists and on set. It’s now years later that I look back on that career and think, “Oh, you loved styling the window until 2 a.m. for no reason, more than you you care about the brand of jeans,” and that happened at the culmination of years.” Breegan trusted the design industry, flipped a space and the rest was history.

Breegan doesn’t hold back color when making statements in her spaces. His designs usually consist of different shapes, textures and modern fixtures. The Los Angeles native and mother of two is a proponent of design on a budget, as she sourced all of her outdoor decor items from TJ Maxx and by Marshall.

The three main elements she uses to bring an indoor or outdoor space together are rugs, pillows and lighting. “I really think rugs set the tone and personality of a space. Carpet let’s say it’s a living space, and we’re all connected as one. We also look at the pleasure of cushions being cushions Again. It is not destined to disappear. It’s to say I’m here. And don’t forget the exterior lighting options. We forget the outdoors at night when the sun goes down, and there are so many lighting options like homes, candlesand LED lighting. The lights I got were under $20.

As outdoor spaces become more and more popular this summer, you can expect to see color, color and more color as a decorating trend. “It’s all about color. It’s all about maximalism, bright prints and layered textures…lots of burnt oranges, lots of yellow, hints of gold, but this terracotta orange is really popular. Breegan said.

Breegan is here for the long haul when it comes to interior design. His goal is to continue to show the world his talents through his multi-faceted point of view. “Who I am is what I bring to this space, and I’m an adopted child from Los Angles, California. I identify as mixed, half black and half white. Part of the reason I’m drawn to by design is that when I was a kid I felt like I didn’t belong anywhere, so [in this industry] I fit in everywhere. And that’s something I try to bring to my spaces. No matter who you are, you are comfortable here. That’s part of the reason why I love doing what I do. I like to put people at ease. »
