CLEVELAND, Ohio – A man from Euclid died early Saturday after being shot in the parking lot of a bar on West 25th Street.

The shooting took place around 2 a.m. outside ABC the Tavern on the corner of Bridge Avenue and West 25th Street, Cleveland police said on Sunday. First responders found a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his stomach in the bar’s parking lot.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the shooting, police said. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as Davon Cabeza, from Euclid.

Detectives learned during their preliminary investigation that Cabeza was “involved in an altercation” with the shooting suspect and others outside the bar, police said. The shooting suspect, a 38-year-old man, and Cabeza shot each other.

The suspect was arrested at the bar, police said. Firearms were found at the suspect’s home and at the scene.

It is not known if the suspect was formally charged on Sunday afternoon.
