Clarence dominates Orchard Park 42-35 in thriller

BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) – The AA game between 3-2 Orchard Park and 4-1 Clarence was a tough one from start to finish.

The Red Devils were leading 21-19 at halftime and got the ball to start the third. From there, they completed an 8 minute and 50 second trip across the field, including that first run down by Julius Perry.

Clarence is finished the race when Scott Raymond pushes his way for a five-yard touchdown. It is now 28-19.

The defense of the Red Devils was on fire tonight. Ben Gocella throws a nice pass on the sidelines to Jeremy Copeland but Tyler Ryan pushes him back and prevents the first down!

On Clarence’s next possession, they consumed a ton of clock again and finished with a one-yard run down the middle for the touchdown to bring the score to 35-19.

Orchard Park wastes no time on their next trip. In midfield, Gocella throws him deep towards Kegan Mancabelli who shakes a defender before he is downed at the five-yard line.

On the next game, Gocella keeps it himself and takes it for the score. The Quakers are closing the gap and trailing 35-27 after the two-point conversion.

OP recovers the ball in the ensuing kick-off, and a few games later, Gocella rushes for the one-yard touchdown to tie the game at 35 with just under four minutes to go.

Both teams trade fumbles late in this one, and after the Red Devils collect one inside the red zone, and a few plays later, Garrett White throws the ball and Perry goes up and gets it back before d ‘be brought back inside the 25-meter line!

Clarence scores with just 1:10 left on Raymond’s 24-yard rush to bring the score to 42-35.

The Quakers took the ball onto the pitch in the last minute of play and with just three seconds left, Gocella tries to score to tie the game but his pass is interrupted and that would end the game!

Clarence towers over Orchard Park 42-35. The Red Devils go 5-1 on the season, the Quakers are now 3-3.
