Barrette Outdoor Living expands PVC manufacturing

Exterior bar Living Inc. announced today plans to open a 175,000 square foot PVC manufacturing plant dedicated to the production of vinyl fences and railings in Brooksville, Florida.

Located along the Brooksville Tampa Bay Regional Airport rail yard, the plant will process PVC blending in addition to the extrusion, fabrication and assembly of vinyl products. The new Brooksville plant will provide increased production capacity for vinyl products.

Barrette manufactures outdoor products for the home, including vinyl, aluminum, steel and composite fences and railings and composite decking for the residential market from 14 locations across North America.

The plant, slated for completion in early 2023, will create 150 to 175 new jobs in Hernando County and complement the company’s existing 300,000 square foot aluminum manufacturing and warehouse facilities located in proximity.

In line with the company’s sustainability efforts, the new factory will have direct access to a rail track, ensuring efficient delivery of raw materials from suppliers and other Barrette Outdoor Living locations. Direct-to-factory rail delivery eliminates the need for additional transportation methods, which helps reduce the company’s carbon footprint. Barrette added that it also aims to provide consumers with more environmentally friendly choices by increasing the amount of products it manufactures using recycled materials and environmentally friendly manufacturing processes.

Plans for the new Brooksville location follow two major industry acquisitions in October – National Vinyl Products based in Nephi, UT, and Dover, DE; and Madden Manufacturing based in Lake Ozark, MO.

“Everything we do is serve our customers better, not only in terms of capacity, but also in terms of proximity,” said David Etzkin, national sales manager, in a prepared statement. “Recent acquisitions and the new plant location allow us to get closer to our customers, not only reducing shipping times and costs, but also giving us the opportunity to expand our product offering to better meet the needs of our customers. regional needs.
