Barrette Outdoor Living adds a polypropylene privacy screen

Orlando, Florida— Barrette Outdoor Living Inc., based in Middleburg Heights, Ohio, launched a new polypropylene privacy screen, DIY flooring system called InstaDeck, and horizontal vinyl fence styles ahead of the building season. spring.

The owners of Barrette Outdoor Living are also considering an initial public offering (IPO) that could value the company at more than $1 billion, according to a recent report from Bloomberg.com.

The manufacturer holds 75 patents and uses proprietary machinery to produce vinyl, aluminum, steel and composite fences and railings; composite decking; and other building products at 14 facilities for sale at home centers, specialty stores and lumberyards.

The company is majority-owned by TorQuest Partners Inc., a Toronto-based private equity fund manager, and Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec (CDPQ), a long-term institutional investor.

A significant minority stake is held by Les Entreprises Barrette Ltée and a management team headed by Jean desAutels.

At the International Builders Show in Orlando, Florida, Feb. 8-10, Decorative PP Panels won the best category of outdoor products in the Best in Show competition with 200 entries.

Panels are available in various sizes, colors and patterns to be used as patio coverings, pergola ceilings, dividing walls, railing inserts, air conditioning covers, skirting boards around patios or for decorative wall art for outdoors or indoors.

“It’s been our biggest hit here. Everyone has different ideas of what they want to do with it,” David Ross, a regional Barrette salesman, told IBS.

Visitors to the exhibit also saw an interlocking plastic tile system called InstaDeck that creates a foundation for a freestanding deck at ground level. InstaDeck uses an integrated, patented fastening system called Step-Clip that was designed to secure Barrette Outdoor Living’s composite deck boards in place without the use of screws.

Once the InstaDeck tiles are set up and the composite decking is cut to fit, owners simply step on the decking boards to clip them into place.

Additionally, Barrette offers a vinyl privacy fence that features horizontal filler panels. A special channel allows the boards to slide into place and lock securely. The fence can also be topped with decorative PP panels.
