BIG BUCK NITE 2001! The 13th Annual Great Lakes Outdoors Big Buck Nite is now a memory. However, once again a very pleasant one. Thirty-One of Michigan's largest racks and the hunters who took them, were in attendance at the Lapeer County Sportsman's Club on Saturday December 8th for the taping of three TV shows. The shows can be seen on Michigan PBS and through out Canada. You can check for times, dates and stations in the listings below. As always the stories were almost as tall and wide as some of the huge racks that were viewed by all. Susie and I would like to thank all the hunters for attending. Many drove 3 or 4 hours just to get several minutes of glory on stage with Rob. We would also like to thank the Lapeer County Sportsman's Club for again hosting the event for the 12th straight year! Commemorative Bucks of Michigan of course deserve a big pat on the back for scoring all these monsters and getting me the score sheets on time. CBM has a brand new sixth edition Michigan Big Game Record Book in the works. It should be out in the fall of 2002. It lists all of Michigan's trophy deer, elk, bear and turkeys. Our camera crew of Susie, Gary Ewell and Jim Saliba did their usual stellar job of taping. Thanks to all. This year Victor Bulliner's monster 8 pointer stold the show! It green scored a whopping 180.2 typical. After the 60 day drying period it will be panel scored for Boone & Crockett and will be either the number one or number two eight pointer ever taken in the world!!!
